The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul reviewed by #travelbookclub

Our first #travelbookclub choice of 2016 was The Little Coffee Shop of Kabul. Set in Afghanistan, the book gives a rare insight into daily life in the country. Although the characters are fictional, the book’s author Deborah Rodriguez spent five years teaching at and later directing the Kabul Beauty School, the first modern beauty academy and training salon in Afghanistan. She also co-owned the Cabul Coffee House.
