#travelbookclub discusses Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden

  • This month’s book, Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, was a really popular choice. Not only did we learn a lot about the secretive world of the Geisha girls, but we also discovered more about the traditions of Japan.

I have always loved this book and re-reading it brought back lots of memories about the time I accidentally gatecrashed a Geisha tea party.

  1. I loved this book! I read it years ago and it is probably worth a second read. I am now reading Amy Tan’s book “The Valley of Amazement” about the life of Chinese courtesans at the turn of the century. I can’t put it down! It is excellent!
